Whilst Herbal-Jazz is primarily the portfolio and blogging site of Sophie Shanahan-Kluth there is a second author for the blog, who also has a few bits and pieces around the site. You can read more about him towards the end.
But since you're probably here to read more about me, Sophie, I'll tell you.
My name is Sophie and I'm a 21-year-old student at UWE in Bristol, studying towards a BSc Web Design degree. Right now I'm on my placement year, working at Circle Interactive, and will complete my course in July 2013. (That seems a lot further off than it really is!)
If you've already taken a look around at my portfolio you've probably figured out that I quite enjoy design. That's true! I love all things arty farty and designy... whiny. Erm, yep. I've been drawing since I can remember, but started to "draw to improve" when I was about 12. Not long after that I started to make websites, although back then it was just editing a premade template and changing the colours around a little. I like to think I've come a fair way since then - if not in terms of design, at least in terms of code.
Outside of design and illustration, I like to read, listen to music and sometimes I do a bit of fantasy writing. I like to think I can sing, but others aren't so sure. I like funny gifs and crime television shows, and am perhaps a little too appreciative of the English language. Lucky for me, though, I've started to carry my appreciation for perfect English over into the world of Web design, and most of my markup is what I like to think of as "pretty damn spot on".
I play a couple of online games, too, but by no means am I a gamer. My favourite computer games include Age of Empires (...the original one), Solitaire and Minesweeper. I'm not a huge lover of newer consoles, either. I tend to stick to my little N64 with Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That I've only completed once. In thirteen years.
Otherwise, I don't know that there's an awful lot to say about me. My name is Sophie, and I design.
*there will be things about Richard here*
